Who holds your information
Monsey Classified is responsible for the information described below, and it is who you are dealing with when you contact us about it.
What we collect
- Your phone number. Required — it's how the alerts reach you.
- Your email address. Only if you sign up on the website. Phone and text signups have none.
- Your name, if you give it. You don't have to.
- What you're looking for — bedrooms and areas.
- A record of what we texted you, so we can answer you if you say a text never arrived.
That's the whole list. We don't ask your income, your family size, or why you're moving.
What we do not collect
We never see your card number. Payment goes directly to Stripe. What comes back to us is the last four digits and whether it worked. Your full card number never touches our system, which means it cannot leak from our system.
What we use it for
Sending you the alerts you asked for. Taking the one-time payment, if you make one. Answering you when you contact us. That is all. We do not profile you, advertise to you, or analyse you.
We do not sell your phone number
Not to landlords. Not to brokers. Not to anyone, at any price, ever. Your number is the most valuable thing you give us and the most damaging thing we could leak. If we ever wanted to change this, we would have to ask you first — and we don't intend to ask.
Who else touches your data
Three companies, each doing one job:
- Twilio — delivers the text messages. They see your number and the message.
- Stripe — takes the payment. They handle your card; we don't.
- Our hosting provider — runs the servers the data sits on.
Nobody else. No advertisers, no data brokers, no marketing tools.
How long we keep it
While you have an account, and for 12 months after you close it or stop the alerts, in case you come back or a billing question comes up. After that it's deleted. If you'd rather it went immediately, email us and it will.
If you text STOP
We stop texting you immediately and permanently. We keep a record that you said stop — we have to, so the system never texts you again by accident. That record is the smallest thing possible: your number and the fact that you opted out.
Your choices
- Stop the texts: reply STOP. Works instantly, no explanation needed.
- See what we hold on you: email us and we'll tell you.
- Delete it: email us and we'll delete it.
- Fix it: email us and we'll correct it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to the subscriber list is limited to people who need it, and every account that can reach it is protected by a strong, unique password.
Children
This service isn't for anyone under 18 and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we do with your information, we'll tell you before it takes effect — not quietly, after.
